Access a world of learning, collaboration and culture
Open a window onto other cultures and bring the world to your classroom with the British Council’s International School Award. Form a partnership with schools overseas to teach your pupils about life in other countries and develop them as global citizens.
Taking part in the Award:
- links your school with others around the world
- teaches your pupils about other countries and cultures
- provides an internationally recognised accreditation for your school’s international work
- enhances teaching standards through sharing best practice from other countries.
Where to start?
With three entry points, you can access the Award at the level which best suits your school’s existing international work. The good news is that if you have an existing partnership with a school overseas, you can apply directly for the Intermediate Certificate or Accreditation.
Please note that the first step is to register with Schools Online. Here you can find other schools around the world to form a partnership with and access resources to support your international work.
The embedding of international learning in the curriculum.
“Working towards the International School Award gave our pupils a greater awareness of other cultures and countries, and a better understanding of their own.” Chris Williams, Assistant Head teacher at Lincoln Christ’s Hospital School.
If you feel your school has already done enough to be awarded the Foundation or Intermediate certificate, please apply online now. Please note that you will need to be registered with Schools Online first.
If you would like to apply for the International School Award we are currently accepting Action Plans for the 2016/17 academic year.
