Work face-to-face with your partner

Students from Nigeria.

UK schools engaged in Professional Partnerships with partner schools in the MENA region are invited to apply for a fully-funded opportunity to attend our partnership visit in Amman, Jordan in February 2018. The funding will enable one UK teacher per school to travel to Jordan and work with representatives from their MENA partner school.

To facilitate collaboration face-to-face, teachers in the UK can apply for a £3000 grant to send a teacher and a school leader to visit the partner school overseas.

Each visit will involve participating in an event, arranged in country by the British Council. The events will bring together schools from the UK, their partners and other local schools to share experiences and good practice of implementing core skills within the curriculum.

From 13-17 February, we ran a #CoreSkillsVisit week across Twitter and Facebook. Search the hashtag to find out more about what the teachers have been doing on their overseas trips.

To view videos and stories relating to the February visits, see our Connecting Classrooms in Practice page

Specific dates will vary for different countries and further details will be posted here closer to the application deadline. It may be possible to offer some flexibility on the visit dates; please email schools@britishcouncil.org to discuss the options for your partnership.

Before applying for a grant you have to:

  • complete the core skills learning journey (both schools)
(To learn more, visit the core skills training page, or find out about face-to-face training in the UK here)
  • identify a partner school
  • gain support and permission to take part in visits alongside school leaders
  • secure the support of your head teacher.
