Debating matters (DM) is a debate competition for high schools launched in 2008 in India. The programme is run and managed by British Council and supported by the Institute of Ideas, UK and Welcome Trust. The aim is to engage students in debating the complexities of real world issues and develop their potential to understand the world better. This year four cities will host the Debating Matters up to the regional finals- New Delhi in the north, Mumbai in the west, Chennai in the south and Kolkata in the east.
