The British Council’s Schools Online website is part of the Connecting Classrooms programme in Bangladesh and has been used for three main purposes.

 

  1. - to enable schools to document and share information about their social action projects
  2. - to enable to Bangladeshi schools to with schools in other countries on international projects
  3. - to pilot a Project Based Learning approach to curriculum delivery with UNESCO Bangkok

 

This conference will introduce new ideas about the potential of ICT in education and showcase best practice to date amongst a selection of the 230 Bangladeshi schools currently using the website.

 

British Council Schools Online(BCSO) is also a web community with a variety of online tools designed to help enable teachers to network with one another, seek and share advice and access professional development resources.  This conference will also serve as an opportunity to strengthen the network or teachers in Bangladesh using ICT to help with teaching and learning.

 

1. Participants

Invitations will be sent to teachers and head teachers from schools which are actively engaged with different aspects of the website.  This will be a residential (one night) conference at the BRAC training centre.
