Congratulations on reaching this point on your journey into international education. You are now just step away from being accredited with the International School Award. By now we hope you have experienced the impact international learning can have on pupils, teachers and the school as a whole.

 

Schools which are applying for accreditation will need to demonstrate that they have embedded international in the curriculum. You are now just a step away from being accredited with the International School Award. By now we hope you have experienced the impact international learning can have on pupils, teachers and the school as a whole. We are still here to support you along your journey, so here are the steps you need to take, and all the resources you need, to be accredited with the International School Award.

Please note that the below is an overview of what is required. The International School Award Guide  (192 KB) contains more thorough guidance.

1. Revise and develop the international policy

Your international policy should be a fluid, moving document which is kept up to date.

 

2. Submit an action plan

Submit a plan of activities by 13 December 2013 for the following year's activities.  Ensure that the planned activities involve most learners in the school.

 

3. Curriculum based activities

Complete at least seven activities, three of which must be with another school. Please see the International School Award Guide for help in designing your activities. 

 

4. Language Learning

Add an element of language learning to the activities above. Please see the International School Award Guide for more details.

 

5. Impact evaluation

Keep a record of the impact of international work on pupils, teachers and parents to support your Impact Evaluation form. Submit the Impact Evaluation by 18 July 2014 on the Schools Online website.
